The reason I'm asking @Henry_b is I might be able to buy back my Classic with auto box I sold around 8yrs ago and is lying in a field ever since...want the Dixon bate and the power steering bits and also the had a new cam etc fitted before I brought it here but if box and bell housing are the same length re mounts and propshaft might think about fitting auto box...got to be v,carefull here regards modifications...

I'd imagine, if fitting to a 101 you'd have to fab some Mounts, being both 3.5 i'd imagine the bellhousing bolt pattern would be the same, don't hold me to it though 
And propshaft length would be different as the gearboxes are 2 different lengths.
I've heard it's quite strict regarding upgrades in your part of the globe, don't think a G'box change would be to detrimental but Gov will do anything to pish people off.

@Henry_b question was even stupider than I thought...cause I can't drive it due to the bloody Portuguese customs I've rather ignored it for a while and worked on the P6 and Smart fortwo I'm re-building...got under today to compare measurments you provided and doh double doh the old git (me) forgot it's got a knokken winch how the fxxk would I connect that to an auto-box...idiot that I am...disturbed a wasp nest they are tiny here and got bloody stung as well...thanks for your input anyway...

The conversion has been done before but they probably didn't have the winch...as I'm only 500 kilometers from Morrocco think the winch will be more use full...when I can drive it that is...it came with 2 new original landrover extra gears in the box of bits supposedly from a RRC one has 26 teeth the other 46 was told if fitted makes for better cruising speed any ideas have looked on a lot of sites but none give tooth count...

The LT95's Transfer case "gear" "ratios" can be altered to give better crusing ability,
thanks to the fact the LT95 and transfer case is one unit, negates the need to drop the whole unit to adjust ratios, very simple..
The RRC LT95 B suffix, i believe had taller gears to give better crusing ability and higher speed.

Not doubting you but i've seen no 46 teeth High R gears, could be wrong though .
High Range Ratio 1.174 - 47 teeth
High range ratio 1.113 - 48 teeth
High range ratio 1.1227 - 43 teeth
High range ratio 0.99621 - 45 teeth
45/26 i believe is what you have and that is a 0.996 ratio.
And that is the highest you can get.. IIRC

Good tires would be my first port of call, those Camac tires look the business have good reviews too.
Tires being your only point of contact best make sure they're A1..
I'd also be sniffing around the brakes too, don't want stingy brakes on a 101 at high speed
i'm sure though being you they're already all new.
