Yes yes yes I know! Wrong section!
However I don't want to post in Gaylander section encase one of them wants a hot date!( lol)

Ok
Here goes, I'm looking for a cheep second hand 4x4 for running 2 smelly wet dogs around in and also letting my wife use as a mobile tack room for her horse.

I can get hold of an early mark 1 with K series engine for below £400 and it's in mint condition except for ( yes the thing has started to overheat) so how hard is it to change the head gasket etc, and will I need to skim the head on a minor overheat issue?

To save a lot of potential hassle, I would get the head checked out just in case it has a slight warp. They will advise if it needs skimmed.

Yes
That then turns a potential bargain into a money pit?
I will look on flee bay for how much skimmed heads are fetching

Better off with an L200 with a hard top on the back. What you save on the purchase on a Gaylander you will lose on repairs and general grief.
