Dear All,

Really tried searching honest but couldn't phrase the question to get a satisfactory result/find. have also checked my parts book for a plug or something with no result

Anyway, it's a while since my Discovery 1 was complete (new boot floor etc...) and I can't remember what should go in the corner on the photo. At the moment it allows water to flow out just behind the rear wheel arch on both sides.....

can anyone help is this supposed to be open, should I weld it up or is/was there a plug

Found some old photos of 'Pricilla' before she was sent off to be welded and I have a snealing suspicion the floor has been welded up short somehow....really weird

Im currently doing my boot floor this is what i have in that corner maybe you just need a rubber plug. It wont be a drain for water as you shouldnt have water in there anyway unless you want replace the boot floor again

Hi i think they used range rover classic side floor panels,i think they are a bit bigger,probably because they needed to cut more metal out or fold up into the arch.dont think you should leave holes there unless you have no roof.,didn't have those holes on my old disco.

Ok, looks like it's short and maybe they ordered the wrong parts....well it's all welded up now so I'll borrow a mig and cobble something together. Just goes to show what can happen if you don't do it yourself.....barstewards!

hole 1 should have cables and grommit
circle 2 is flange that should extend to where circle 3 is
circle 3 should be angled upwards but looks to have been removed.
circle 4 is part of rear body cross member that should follow profile of part 3. looks to have been remanufactered straight.

cut a lump of steel to fit and weld it in. awkard shape now!

Yeah took me a while to plate up the same gap, cos I ended up with the same hole when I did my floor.

Few bits of strip tacked in nicely sorted it
