Hi all. I am new to the forum and hope that somebody can help me. I have a 1997 P38 2.5 DSE. Sometimes when I Pull away with a few extra revs I get a noise that I can only describe as A cog jumping. It does not allways happen but when it does it sounds serious.

a pal had this problem on a 2.5 dse and turned out to be the clutch so hope this might be help full

sounds like the viscous coupling in the transfer box, had this before and it sounded really bad!!

Thanks for the replys. What tell tell signs are there that would show up the viscous coupling being faulty.

Thanks for the replys. Turned out to be the chain drive on the transfere box. Got the transfere box reconned and fitted for £650. like new again now
