Was looking the other day at the engine etc and removing the glow plugs and i caught this thing (listed in the picture circled in blue)

I thought OH ****!! Where has that come from. Anyway i found a pic on here of the same thing but wont tell me what it is

Can anyone shed any light on this for me?

My thoughts were correct then. after being told where the breathers were i thought it could be. But last thing i wanted was to find out its something different!

Specifically its an axle breather pipe.

Thought as much well thats handy as i dont think it took down any water then! Touch!

The other axle breather will be at the other end of yer landy.

It's a breather pipe alright but I don't think that one is an axle breather. Pretty sure mine had two there by the bulk head, one for gearbox, the other for transfer box. My rear axle breather was tucked up in the chassis somewhere near where the brake pipe joint the flex hose. but my front axle breather had been snapped off before I bought it.

Mine has two sticking out of there :suspicious: is there a second dipstick I haven't been checking?
