I’m back
my mate has found a local farmer thats selling rape seed oil at 81p per litre,hes been runnin in his t4 transporter along with normal diesal and he reckons its good..will it be ok in me 200 tdi..anyone else using it?
 
It will be fine in a 200. 70/30 in summer 50/50 in winter is what I'd run.
 
There was a bloke selling 1000 litre tubs of svo on ebay for 500 notes a while back. He was in south wales if I remember. Now that would be cheap motoring.
 
Wiltshire Landyman, would he sell some to me? Your in Durrington am in Shaftesbury not very far worth it me if he would. Ran mine on the stuff last year, goes better than diesel.

hi yes he sells it to everyone and you even get a vat reciept if you want to claim it back.its cash only he hasnt got credit card facilities tho

hi yeh its at ratfin farm just off the solstice park junction on the a303 heading towards andover come off and head for bulford at the roundabout turn left youll see signs for biofuel..
 
I know that place, was up round there this afternoon, saw the sign. Do you know if he will fill straight to the tank or do you have to take a drum?
 
Visited that place tonight on the way home.

Its gone up he is selling Biodiesel at 89p litre, its made from waste veg oil (WSVO) not Reapseed oil.
Reapseed oil he can get but has a price tag of £1.40 a litre! This is due to HMRC putting a charge of 54p for fuel duty. he will not sell it otherwise as he gets inspected by HMRC and last time he claims cost him £3000 for not chargeing the tax.

As to using Biodiesel in my 200TDi not sure as seen loads of posts on forums about needing heater system and bunging up filters! also some pumps do not like it due to the rubber seals failing.

Not sure so will have to investigate on this a bit more.
 
Last week tesco were doing 10litres veg oil for 7.99...dont know if they still are...might be worth a look
 
should be at all extra stores going to check norwich one tommorrow.....not really a big saving though...was better in the days of 40 -50p a ltr:5bdriving:

You will find that the cheapest stuff tesco do is not pure veg oil it has anti foaming agent in it. I've used loads of it in the past but I found it smokes a little bit whereas 100% pure stuff doesn't.
 
yeah remember reading that on a tread here before...but hey used tons of it in the past too and seems to had no negative affect.....yet!!!
 
I've used gallons of the stuff without any problems. I also get a bit of used stuff from the kitchen at work that's the same and no problems with that either. Just a little bit of smoke that's all.
