thanks !
i have a misfire when revs go up to from idle to about 2000 rpm and the rev counter gets stuck in places on the way up to 2000 rpm .
i have had new replacement of the following items
fuel pump
injector seals
injector harness
fuel filter housing
any help would be gratefully recieved :)

Some questions which will make u think(or act):
1. did u try to read the fault codes?
2. do u still have EGR fitted? ... if yes check the valve to not be clogged with muck
3. after(or before) u replaced the injector harness did u "disoiled" the red connector of the ECM?

i have not checked the fault codes
the red plug is dry
the egr has been blanked
there is a tapping noise coming from the top of the engine when cold or hot could it be a faulty injector ?

Put a new genuine/OEM filter too before u do anything else.... and if the new pump is not also genuine it could be noisy without other reason

ok will try that
just worried that the pump is straining to much and could not be doing it any good
but need to use it for work
could a cracked head make the pump louder ?
many thanks

a cracked head would have messed up the cooling system too... overpressure/overheating/gases in coolant/etc

My neighbour changed his TD5 fuel filter for an OEM one this weekend, he says its cured all the little problems and it drives like a different car!

took it to local land rover dealer and they said it was a faulty fuel pump
so they fitted a new one and job done .
still lumpy from tick over to 2000 rpm dont know what that is ?
