My series 2/3 engine seems to be drinking the fuel to quickly !! ( like they all do ) I can always smell petrol, have re-sealed sender unit on top of tank and replaced rubber hose to the fuel pump. Could the fuel pump be leaking internally ?

Gasket on the sediment trap (little glass bottle next to fuel pump)? Possibly warped carb body, I think the Zeniths are prone to this. Which side of the engine is the smell strongest?
