Hi,
I replaced the fuel filter assembly the other day on my TD5, (element and the part which bolts to the chassis with pipes going into them.) managed to accidently empty most of the pipes, but connected up the new assembly anyway. long story short, it now doesn't want to start.
i've tried priming the fuel system in the three ways that i've seen on here;
* ignition pos II for 30 secs, then off for 15, repeat etc. then throttle down and turn over the engine
*also on for 3 mins, off for 15 sec, repeat etc, as above,
* ignition pos II for 3 minutes, then pump throttle 5 times, pedal etc, but no flashing engine light/start,
so now i'm out of ideas! i've been trying it irregularly since sunday night, so i'm pretty sure i've not flooded the engine. all the hoses appear to be on the correct place i took them off from on the old assembly.
on a different note, i found this on the back of the wagon, theres two, on at the rear, at the top of the van, and another one in line with the rear door, they're definately electrical, but what for?! its an old BT van if its any help?
Stand by for more stupid questions!
