Hello all, I just got myself a newer Disco. An 02 Discovery ES (Automatic) the only thing is tonight one of the warning lights came on while it was pouring down. According to manuel it's the "fuel filter" lamp implying that some water is about. Is there anything I can do to remedy the situation or is it a garage job. Any suggestions?

Cheers
Alex

The fuel filter is mounted under the drivers side rear wheel arch (a crazy place) and the sensor for water in the filter clips on underneath. Often water gets into the contacts and causes the light to come on, just remove the clip, pull off the sensor and clean it.

If it still stays on, turn the knurled plastic piece that the wiring plug connects to, but first (if you want) connect a plastic hose up to the stub, as you turn this, it allows the water - and some diesel to drain out.

Hi I am only a newbie, so sorry for the forwardness. but I too had this problem, but only after my garage changed the filter and put a pattern one on from Bearmach. it never flashed at all but after the change it flashed intermittantly for a bout 3 months and now stays on.
just seemed a coincidance. and worth mentioning.
