At what temperature should the FBH kick in? No mention of one even being fitted in handbook. Great. Is there any way of testing it?

I seem to remember it being about 5 deg c.

Hadnt used my car for a week. Temperatures now dropped, dont you just love the smell of burning diesel in the morning.

The FBH came as part of the 'Cold Climate Pack' (I think) which came as standard on the HSE. Included the heated screen heated wing mirrors as well as the FBH.

I guess the Climate Pack was an option.

Perhaps these will help...

There's timer and a remote control to set it and the demisters off automatically to defrost your car in the mornings...

Also there is a silencer to quieten the exhaust...

Some stuff direct from Webasto...

I have a remote control system fitted to my Webasto in the Camel.
Fantastic.

The FBH was fitted to many of the TD4s, but mostly after (IIRC) 2003/4. I think the CCP was heated front screen and heated seats. Incidentally, all Freelanders should have heated mirrors.

Cheers

My MY01 Td4 SE got a fbh, was not aware of the fact it even existed, got it as standard with the car/trim level.

Hello all a new voice on here, I run a 05 reg TD4 SE which has the FBH fitted as standard, this comes on automatically when temp drops to or below 5c and cuts off when up to temp, it pre heats the water piped to the heater, the unit is a smaller version of a night heater fitted to HGVs where by they blow hot air into the cab, and work via a thermostat in the cab.
So far mine works fine but no doubt some thing else to go wrong, lets hope not all the best Roy.

Is this polite and thus missing the fullstop after not ? Or is it not and is the sentence to be as it is ???:D :D :D :D

My FBH also works fine, since a couple of years I've been moaning of finding a way to 'control' it myself instead of being controlled by the exterior temperature sensor but so far not done. Now with the winter just ahead again I'm afraid another year will go by without the modification.

hi all iv been looking on ebay for a timer to warm the car up in the morning ,how mutch do they cost at landrover dealers ??

I looked into this earlier this year -

To add either the remote control or timer unit you have to also buy a silencer for some reason not well explained.

cost ? - a staggering £1,100 from an 'offishul Landie dealer

All I want to do is turn it on before I go out to the car in the morning. I can find no wiring info for the Webasto FBH unit - even off their own website.
So, I meant to get in amongst it with a meter and sort out my own contol, but sadly the cold weather has come and the daylight gone before I remembered about it

a burner is a bit OTT for what you want, one of these is ideal - about £260 DIY fitted

KENLOWE

That's all very well, but I already have a TD4 with the FBH fitted as standard.

That price was just for adding the remote control !!!!!!

well you do have to option of leaving it running for 5 minutes before your drive off - the Kenlowe thing allows you to fit a cheap timer to it

Indeed,

But I reckoned I could blip it with a remote BEFORE ever stepping out in the cold, and then have me bowl of porridge

And a cable dangling out on the drive to the car is just asking for a driver error :D

well if you've not got the sense to remember to unplug it buy the fecking remote then and stop wingeing about how much it costs

Our standard procedure for any vehicle or plant is simple: if it's plugged in to charge or whatever, the cable HAS to be routed over the controls or across the steering wheel, so driving off with the cable attached accidentally becomes impossible.
