Didn’t have any problem with my wipers until the other morning when I got to cold/lazy to wipe the snow off my windscreen completely and used my wipers to clear instead.
Now when I put intermittent wipe on it stops in random places not in the correct park position. If the wipers are in the correct position and I do the single wash/wipe it ends in the correct position, but if it starts this in the incorrect position then it returns to the same incorrect position.
Normal and fast wipe work fine but when switched off do not return to the lower parked position, but stick where they are stopped.
Rear wipe still works ok when reverse gear is used and wipers are on.
I’m guessing it’s a wiper motor problem. Is the motor easy to remove and can it be stripped down for repair?

Both arms are moving togther if they needed tightening or the splines was stripped I'd expect them to start flapping about independently.

Last year, when working at Halfrauds - we sent 14 peeps to the stealers with buggered wiper motors caused by blades freezing to screen - its an expensive mistake - about £150 a pop, normally, coz the motor screws up the mechanism.
 
They wasnt frozen and worked fine clearing the remains of the snow. Seems like some kind of mechanical damage inside the motor itself.
 
Apparently not or even when someones trying to help by eliminating steps to find the root cause of a fault.
 
Always check the easy cheapest fixes first.

It probably will be the motor as it's been overloaded, hope you get it sorted.
 
Couple of 13mm nuts and a wobble on the arms to remove them from their splines, pull the plastic rivets out from the top of the plastic cover where is connects under the window glass, then pop the plastic rivets where the cover connects in the bay and pull back the seal strip with the bonnet and remove the cover.

This gives you access to inspect the linkage and the motor, and remove the motor and fit a new one if it's gubbed!
 
how to take the wiper motor of is quite easy remover the wiper arms then remove the scuttle panel this is done by get asmall screw driver and put it into the plastic screws and and rome them and pull up you will also hace several clips at the bottom of the pannel and then you will see the wipper motor hope this helps
 
Linkage repair clip looks a useful spare for the tool box as Singvogel said but I think the answer pasted below will be more of an answer to my problem.
