Evening all,
going to remove front seats next weekend to repair heater elements and fit hotter rating thermo switches {45} question is do I need to disconnect battery because mine has sjde airbags? Thanks in advance.
Paul.

There's your answer
+ leave it disconnected for a good half hour to fully discharge the system before disconecing the seat wireing

No you don't have to disconnect the battery or wait before you get stuck in. Just post back after to tell us how you got on.

I SAID, JUST POST BACK AFTER

oh forget it
:D

Unpluigging the side airbags will not fire them, after all bad connections in the connector is a common problem.
Better safe than sorry though.

Cut the hog rings off and use thickish cable ties when re fitting seat base. Also you can swap the bases from side to side to even out the wear.

Hi, yes I had hoped to do that, is it difficult to remove seat base and swap over? How long a job would you say it is? Going to take both out at same time.

Hi all, so, spent the weekend fixing seats, repairing breaks( 6) in total swapped out thermo switches and changed over seat bases but have hit a problem, there seems to be no power getting to either seat have checked fuse that's ok, when I push the heated seat buttons I can hear a clicking from behind dash area is there a separate relay that I should be looking for. Any ideas please.
Thanks Paul.

Heated seats are powered from BECM. Fuse 2, 30 amp. Nothing behind dash should be clicking when they are switched on. Although they are situated in the Hevac they have no function within it.
