I have been asked to fit a front recovery point to my 2005 90. It has a standard front bumper and a steering guard which I think makes standard jate rings too narrow to fit on the chassis – though I had read that LR made a wider version – any one any ideas. I have seen some quality ones at ‘famous four’ for only £16 each (wanted to avoid the welded cheaper options) but they are too narrow for the chassis with the guard in place. Any other suggestions or ideas welcome (thoughts on swivel hitch reinforced through the bumper)

is the standard steering guard the tube type?? replace it with a steering guard that has recovery points built in

No its not a tube - its an exsiting skid plate but with no recovery points, thought i had seen a thread about wider than standard landrover (genuine) jate rings but cannot find it now?

i dunno about that if it was me i would replace the steering guard with an aftermaket one with recovery points

Thanks - got it sorted Land Rover Genuine Parts Wide JATE Ring (ZXC9435) for only £20 for the dealer... smashing
