just replaced the front radius arms on my defender . with some castor correcting ones 3deg and polly bushes when i took the old ones off noticed that on one side the arm was extremly close to chassis compared to other side. Passanger side was closest . Was hoping the new arms and bushes might help but still one side seems extremley close compared to other side . There the right 38mm narrower arms and correct bushes would anything else cause this problem

Thought corrected arms are for lifted vehicles.....?! or is that Cranked Arms...?!?

Has yours been lifted beyond 2"??

yes has been lifted was ok with standard radius arms but was bit skitish ,on road and noticed they were running close to chassis so hoped the castor correcting ones would help but still seems to be same problem

You shouldnt need those unless you have 2inch plus lift?

Side to side movement is only controlled by the Panhard rod, if it is standard, it will be pulling the axle to one side with a lift
. If the handling is skittish, there is another problem, lift or no lift, could be Panhard rod bushes.

I could be wrong (usually am), but I think Castor Corrected arms are shorter to pull the axle back a fraction to assist in steering correction.....Cranked are literally 'bent' to prevent the bushes from being overly flexed.

Maybe cranked arm would provide more clearance....you can (I believe) get cranked and corrected arms.

brand new bushes through out new springs new adjustable panhard rod new drag ling sterring rod ball joints etc

Adjusting the Panhard rod should move the axle and give a bit more clearance on the side you are worried about.!

Have you looked at rear arms, they can cause road issues too? And tyres, some off road tyres aint that great for road handling?

its not a major issue but just wondered why one side would have a big gap and other side would be pretty much touching the chassis weather standard or castor corecting arms

new cranked rear arms and bushes new a frame joint springs bushes etc pretty much new underneath possible the panhard rod was adjusted wrongly i put it back on as it came off after changing bushes

Undo the locknut and give it a twiddle, it will sort the clearance issue. My memory is the gap between the arms and the chassis isnt huge anyway.
Doubt if that is what is causing the twitchiness, though, but maybe it will deal.
