Hi guys

Bit of a numpty question but hopefully some one will be able to assist.

Replacing front prop shaft and having difficulty.

Rear coupling in place

Front coupling does not line up to the holes also the shaft does not move freely.

Any advice before I have a heart attack greatly appreciated

Are you replacing it with a like for like new propshaft?

Has anything been moved since you took the old one off?

Cheers

Propshaft off eBay
RAC removed snapped prop shaft so o could drive it.
Nothing moved other than driving it in diff lock

Yep, as advised; jack up the front nearside wheel so that you can turn the coupling flange. Out of "diff lock". T-box in neutral so that you can turn the prop shaft. Chock the wheels on the opposite side for safety's sake, use an axle stand while you're at it. Prop shaft goes on with the double cardan joint (Hookes joint) to the T-box, single U/J to the axle, that is if it's a Disco 2.
Take the opportunity to properly grease the U/J, the sliding joint (remove the little grub screw and fit a grease nipple) and if fitted the double cardan joint before you fit the new shaft, it's a lot easier to do it off the vehicle.
