hi my front interior light not working(well main light comes on when doors open but nothing else map lights or main light after doors closed ) have bought new oem light but still same problem do I have to "program this new light in" or is there some thing else I am missing its a 2003 td4

One of the spade connectors will be bad. Get some crimp terminals and re-terminate them.

It'll be an earh problem at the connector. These corrode if the aerial leaks.
My current SE had the same issue too.

The earth that's corroded will be the black wire at the actual plug for the light.
