So, car got basic service, all fine, except the front diff has a leak. That's all they told me. Any idea how much this would cost to replace or fix if it's just a seal? I may be a bit vague here.

Depends upon where it's leaking from - pinion (propshaft area), drain plug, actual casing itself, end of axle casing where the halfshafts come out....

Go and get a quote from where u had it serviced or your nearest LR specialist, simples...as for the cost, as your with the M25 lets say £85+vat per hour for whet ever needs doing
You are vague, what part of the diff is the leak?

So have u oil on the ground below the diff , or is the wheel/ tyre/ brake disk covered in the stuff it's not difficult to have look-see with your CSI torch.

Where the prop enters the diff ? pinion oil seal I would hazard a guess. Why not post a photo and get a confirmation.

Gonna try do so tonite. Really hope it's a simple thing to fix, don't wanna shell out a bunch of hard earned bucks if I can avoid it

Story could not post photo, Tapatalk playing games. Well, took the car to a local business, all it needed was a new seal and oil top up, no damage else fortunately so really relieved. All good to go for my trip!!
