I tracked an oil leak down to the lift pump - fine mist coming out of the little breather port on my 300Tdi.
I had a spare so I put it on.
I was pleased with stopping the leak but chuffed to bits with the difference in performance! Smoother and very noticably quicker acceleration.
Someone else on here said about this kind of improvement when the pump has failed & I can back this up.
Along with this oil-misting leak I had one from the bottom of the (Cyclo?) breather can. Unbelievable where the oil crept to fool me. I was thinking the rocker gasket, the injectors, the flexi hose off the bottom of the can.
I'll have to start waxing the under-body now!.....Oh, hang on..........
