Hi all!
As you can see I am new to this scene, so be gentle. My ayatollah has a 2004 TD4 freelander. 86 odd thousand miles and pulls like a trooper (not the Iz*zU variant!!). My problem is that it starts well enough from iceberg cold, glow plug light comes on, first turn of the key, and bang idling away like a Singer sewing machine. But go into one of the big supermarket chains, spend a few hours and the equivalent in loose change and come out to the trusty stead and she won't start. Turn the key, cut out, again and again, same result. Eventually it will start and all is good. Leave it a couple of hours and same problem. First thing in the morning, starts first time. When driving temp gauge only rises 1/3. When idling, gauge goes to 1/2, go for a drive and it drops back to 1/3. Glow plugs changed and coolant sensor, but no different. Help, anyone? Help!
