OK Guys, Here we go. This is an act of desperation as I can always fathom out whats wrong..
2002 TD4, Crank engine hot or cold, ABS and Hill descent light come on, engine will not start
F4 fuse in fuse box chatters, stop, start three times, third time foot to the floor and it will start
like something in the the film Flight of the Phoenix, stutter, stutter, start, foot to the floor then picks up loads of fuel smoke , once started stop engine , restart, all lights go off and no problems till next adventure....
I have changed brake light switch, hill descent works, ABS works, have swapped fuses.
Well answers on a postcard to confused of Malaga...
PS, local dealers are worse than useless.....

Could have air leaking into the system causing the engine to crank only. Before starting can you here the pump working okay? when you open the bonnet is there a smell of diesel?

Thanks for reply I was starting to get lonely..I have done leak back test, no problem.. no Pump not always running, when it isn't
f4 relay chatters, if I manually close the relay it will start..But as I say it is fine when engine is stopped and restarted.
It now has cooling fan running on initial engine crank..Pump was replaced about a year ago...
