Hi All,

Just bought my first (personally owned) freelander, 2005 TD4 SE Hardback.

My first post and a new member so sorry if i seem stupid in any questions.

Wonder if anyone can help with a few questions.

1. Can someone please confirm if you can get a dealer to retro fit the flush fitting front fogs as standard on the sport ? I do not mean the driving lamps mounted in the black section, i already have those fitted.

2. Does anyone have some instructions on fitting a spray cover, have purchased off of ebay but no distructions.

3. I know the TD4 is a BMW sourced lump, can anyone suggest a tuning company for an ECU tweak, played with TDI tuning before but not sure who is best for the TD4 engine ? Anyone have any experience.

1, yes... stealers want a fortune for it. kit comes wi instruction anyway

2, do you mean the shower cover? ifso dead easy to fit although you'd be better getting hold of a soft top for summer.

3, do a search for roveron.

Just not sure if i have all the bits, seems tricky and just want to ensure doing it the correct way...

My dealer fitted the driving lamps wired to a fog switch and have sworn the outer fog lights are not an option retro fit. I think they messed up and are now trying to cover it !

Do you have a website for the tuning ?

FFS! do a search on here for roveron tuning box

as for the shower cover you should have..

the cover
3 metal rods that fit together
2 strips with velcro on (i think)

that should be it..

not worth messin wi imho...

get a soft top, far more secure!
 
Go to the green oval web site and download the rave cd all the info is on there, for the shower curtain and lights

RAVE CD can be downloaded on ear. . . .check out rover Ron's web site as said afore ,eze a favorite on this site [very good product un better and cheaper than messin round wiff the engine management] oh un welcome earthling:) :) :)

shouldn't the driving lamps come on and off with main beam ?

take the bumper off, and embossed into the back of it should be the template of where to cut to fit the lamps. If it ain't an option, why would they got to all the trouble of embossing the back of the bumper to show you where to cut ?

We have been told by the dealer that this is what they do as the fog lights on the out corners set into the body colour section were not an aftermarket part for the facelifted 04> model.

Pretty sure they are spinning a yarn but not sure what i can do. I've already paid £411 for the fogs to be fitted and ended up with driving lights wired to a fog switch.

I'm going back on saturday to the dealer as they want to adjust the driving lights to be fogs ?

I can't work it out at all...
