Advice please, my 2014 Freelander has done 110k miles and the rear differential is starting to whine, should I have it reconditioned ASAP or is it ok to leave it until the whine becomes unbearable?

Welcome to the Jungle. As for your issue surely it worth taking the misses out of the back first to assess the whine.

It'll go on for a bit, but be aware that the diff tail bearing can seize, causing the rear wheels to lock up. I know this for experience, and having the rear wheels lock at 50 MPH is really scary.
