Hi Everyone,

i have a freelander 1 that broke the belt a year ago. i have had the engine head replaced and new belts fitted etc. the engine timing has been set and i had the 4 injectors refurbished as well. despite this the engine just turns over but will not start. there is compression in all cylinders, plenty of diesel coming to the injectors and the heater plugs are heating. at this point im pulling whatever hair i have left out!! Any ideas or tips would be most welcome

Have you tried a bit of easy start?, is the starter all hooked up right with no dodgey connections etc?, plenty of charge in the battery?

don't think its the imobiliser. When that kicks in you get a LED lit on the dash and the engine won't turn over.

Before you took the head off, did you get the engine to TDC and put the locking pin into the fuel pump? If you didn't do this the timing will be screwed I believe.
