ok it's not for me as i wouldn't buy one anyway, but the step dad phoned me earlier to say the heater on his 1.8 X reg was staying freezing cold even after a 10 mile drive,
the first thing i thought was the HG, but i haven't looked at the car, other than creamy ****e around the filler cap and not much water in the system how else can i tell if it's the HG?

perhaps it is just the heater valve not working, or the cable has come disconnected.

pretty sure the valve in the cabin within the heater unit in passenger footwell, if it is not someone will soon correct me.

UPDATE#
had a look monday morning an the engine was empty of water, filled it up and bled the system and all seemed ok.
was told by a mate who's a mechanic that the k series engine will do this then will be ok for about a month, but then will dump the water again, and will do it more and more often.

a gallon of 4 star and a box of match's is the only cure
