Hi all, this is my first time on this forum!!!

Just wondering if anyone can help me with a problem with my freelander td4 sport 2004 model, yesterday I started it and it was running for approx 5mins then I turned it off because I needed the key to get into the boot locker, then went to start it again and the battery was flat! I then hooked it up with jump leads to my other car and it started with half a turn! My mechanic thinks its the alternator but the battery light hasn't come on! so i would be grateful if anyone had any ideas or had this problem themselves?

if it is charging the battery has lost capacity and w*nked

Hi Fanatic, the battery is slightly low on volts but I always thought that if the alternator has had it the battery light would come on! Do you think it could be the battery or the alternator ? I don't really want to chuck out for a new alternator if that's not the prob!

or is it the ignition switch faulty?

Hi Freelance, don't think it's the ignition switch because as soon as I jumped it, it fired up! Thanks anyway.
