Does anyone know why my freelander does not have a temperature sensor it has a blank

How long have you had the vehicle?

2 years it is a 2012/13 vehicle.
There is no wiring to connect to the temp sensor, which we bought when we decided to change the throttle body.
Surprise when we took the old one out and there is just what looks like a blank.

The intake temperature sensor in the TB isn't fitted to later engines. I believe it was relocated to another position on the intake path, but I'm not sure as to where.

When we bought the car we bought it as a 2013 and that is what is on the log book.
However, when we plugged it into our carsoft diagnostic tool using the vin No. it comes back as 2012.
