2013 Freelander 2 B & W TD4. Enjoying mostly, but a few days ago it started to unlock boot each engine start, opened once when I pulled away.
A new boot switch is on its way. What are the chances that sorts it?

I'd check for stray feed before you spend any money! Boot lock will usually only do what it's told to do!
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I'll probably sound like an idiot, but how do I go about finding a "stray feed"...I googled the symptoms and most came back to water ingress and dodgy switches. Mine is less than six years old and visually looked fine. And it's got sealed "waterproof" loom splices unlike earlier variants. At least it's only £12.50 . Main Dealer wanted £99 plus vat just to plug in diagnostic...with no promises of success

You'll need the circuit diagram and then connect a voltmeter onto the wires that operate the boot latch. Once you can identify what action is causing the release trace back to the switch and see if that is the culprit or whether a supply feed is coming from elsewhere. You'll need to able to read a circuit diagram and use a voltmeter.
