Hi guys,

I'm new to the site and would really appreciate some advice as both LandRover UK and the dealer are scratching their heads with my Freelander 2 problem, which is worrying! I have a 57 plate GS Auto, which I bought as an ex demo in 2008 from Guy Salmon dealer but and am now experiencing intermittent starting problems. Battery replaced at dealers a few months ago along with a separate visit for a diagnostic which came out clear? ( they said they downloaded a few updates) but when I put key in and press start button it either starts or doesn't with just a clicking sound coming from the engine? and the lights on the dash board light up like a xmas tree? Usually after about x10 - x20 attempts of reinserting the key or spare key it starts or I have to leave it and try hours later.

I have a couple of short videos to demonstrate:

I sent these to LR UK but they came back saying they don't know why? and I would need to send it back to the dealers so they could raise a TA with them and try again? Bit reluctant as will be yet another dealer cost at £100 + vat per hour to investigate

Would really appreciate it if anyone knows more than Land Rover themselves

Many thanks

Brett
