Hi i have a freelnder 2.5v6 after 40 miles the coolant bottle losses about 100 mil off water after car cools down can not see eny leaks

Hi keith, have a look at the inside of the oil filler cap, check if there is any "mayo" in there. Also have a look at the top of the coolant bottle to see if it's cracked.

Is the level dropping by 100mm or are you topping up with 100ml to bring it back to the right level?

Have you had any work done recently that involved dropping the coolant ie, water pump, head gasket?

Dunc

Coolant either going into the oil, out of the exhaust or from the overflow if there are no visible leaks. Would suggest that you may have head gasket problems.

It'll be the thermostat or top hose elbow pipe O ring. They leak after a few years unseen as it's under the inlet manifolds. Don't let the water run down to low as it will airlock, this is the biggest cause of head gasket failure on the KV6.

KV6 s don't pop HG like the 4 pot unless the water has run low ;)

the oil and coolant are clear can not see water in the v of engine the bottle has craks but can not see water marks on it the garege did a sniff test and can not find eny thing filling bottle with 100 mil to get back up to mark

The water that leaks into the V evaporates off ;)
The O rings would be my guess.

I'd start with changing the coolant bottle if that's cracked. Have you done a pressure test when the engine is cold? you might see the leak before it evaporates.
