Help i was driving down the road today and as my vehicle changed into 4th gear at around 30mph the revs dropped back down to idle and an f was displayed where the gear indicator is I had to stop and try pull away again for it to reselect 1st, any ideas where to start with correcting this issue. Any help will be much appreciated.

F and 4 flashing means its gone into limp home mode because it detected a problem. Covered many times in the Freelander section below.
