I've tried to find the dimensions of the rear-diff prop-shaft pinion oil seal but have so far failed.
I did see on a couple of sites the following, 7cm x 7cm x 1.5 cm's (or 2cm's).
The 7 x 7 doesn't make sense as this would be the Outer and Inner dimensions are the same.
Can anyone help here?
Thanks.

The OD is 70mm and it's about 12mm thick. I've no idea what the shaft diameter is though.
The OE seal is a cortaco FTC5258G and it costs about £6 in the UK. It's also the same seal as fitted to Discovery 2 pinions on both axles.

Also make sure you mark the nut and record the release torque and number of turns is takes to remove it. The bearing pre-load is controlled by a collapsible spacer. So the nut must be tightened to the exact torque and number of turns, when refitting.

Thanks, Nodge68. Your advice is most welcome.
I have to say there is so many good threads on LandyZone that my knowledge of my Freelander has been extended so much I'm starting to feel like an expert.
Although, having said that, there is still lots to learn and others to help if I can.
Thank you, once again.

Okay, everyone. I've found the size of a Freelander 1 Rear-Diff pinion oil seal ( for prop-shaft ).
It is:
7cm x 4.3cm x 1.5cm
So that's the Outer Diameter (OD) x Inner Diameter (ID) x Width.
If you need one you can nip into anywhere that sells oil-seals to quote this size.
I could have used this information myself a couple of weeks ago, so hope it will be useful to someone else.
