Hi all - me again with yet a few more issued with my battered old S reg freelander 1.
I recently removed the prop shaft as the VCU unit was playing up and am still driving the vehicle without a prop shaft, anyway I am still getting what sounds like a slight knocking / droaning noise coming from one of the wheels (front I think) as I drive.
It sounds like a wheel bearing but I have looked and don't think it is a bearing. Could it be a tyre ?

Your expert thoughts would be appreciated.

Do the tyres look ok? Look at the tread. Is there any saw toothing or unusual wear visible? If you can't tell, swap them side to side. If the noise moves, there's your answer. The tyres would be my first guess. Wheel bearings next.
