Have been looking at possibly doing this upgrade, to forward facing rear seats. Would be a shame to go from 6 seats to four but for long journeys those little 'uns in the back aren't much good. I know that exmoor trim make them, but wasn't passionate about having the seatbelt socket attatched to the load floor, I am pretty sure it would do my head in :D . I have seen the newer genuine Land Rover ones and they have the seat belt socket built in on the side. My question is, would new rear seats fit or is the rear tub on newer 90's completely different?

Chunkey monkey has fitted rears ;)

I made him up some brackets and he's fitted folding ambulance seats into the side, not sure how he's done the seatbelt though

I used a transit seatbelt in mine and the anchor has a long stalk. It's attached to the floor but doesn't get in the way at all. I also have the seatbelt clip that can attach directly onto the seat but I doubt that would be as secure

Seat belts and everything is part of the seat :) theres a pillar as part of the seat holding the belt. The buckle is on the side of the seat.

I think that the benches in the back of the new Defenders are much smaller than older ones, so I doubt the seats from one of these newer vehicles would fit.

Seat belts unclip

So your only left with small bracket on the floor

I didn't know they came off, as you have shown in the picky - do you not find the bracket sticking out of the floor annoying / catch on large objects?

I would imagine you could use the rear ones from a disco. Don't they unclip?

Fitted my one side properly. Few adjustments needed. Need a shorter bolt in one spot.

M10. 2 to bolt plate of seat to per bracket. One through to wheel arch through brackets. One short one into top of the tub per bracket. Two through bottom plate of the seat into wheel arch. Ain't gonna move ever. Sadly i should have put them 30mm further forward as i have gone through the supports under the arches.

Ahhh well, least you know now.

Suppose you could move them forward and seal the holes up though if you really wanted to, but your passengers will have more leg room this way :p

May have a use for it if you're still thinking of selling it at the end of may ;)

Think I may make a bullbar
