I wonder if it's been an ambulance at some stage? looks like an ambulance-y sort of body to me and that would explain the V8 too.

espescially as it looks like a ringer series 3 guages and steering wheel seating etc with coils and an 87 year bit of a messed up ringer mind you but hey you never know might have been in the army and they slaped an 87 on it as it was when it finished its service
