1958 series one 86 inch
good points
exellent bulkhead
exellent doors and tailgate
perfectly straight passenger side front to back
much of the bodywork is there and a set of canvas hood sticks
wheels are free
v5 present
bad points
series 3 engine and gearbox fitted , non runner but will run with little work
rear crossmember needs replacing and some patches on chassis
steering box broken
has a rollcage and the original tank is mounted in the rear
2 large dents on the drivers side
is currently in west wales

guide price i have been told is £2500 so looking for £2000 for a quick sale

What's going on with the front dumb irons? Is that a home made lift kit or do they somehow dislocate to give more articulation?
 
Wife says I'm not allowed to pave over the bit of garden that doesn't have a bit of 2A on it, so I'm out.

I have read that this type of arrangement was used to achieve grater articulation for leaf sprung off roaders.... they pivot like a hinge

do you have any more info on that mate ? possibly a link to an article?

oh and for your info guys i have decided to keep this now as im kind of attached to it after all ! :)
 
Sorry, Where I read it escapes me... it may have been Series 1 mag.... I will have a longer think

i think you are correct , i looked at it today and now you have mentioned a piviot i can see whats going on
theres a tube welded between the two plates with a bolt as a piviot point , also have a grease nipple fitted
