I see Hawkwind, Stranglers (wots left of them) and Thin Lizzy (wots left of them) at the "rock and blues" in derbyshire a coulple of years ago.

Now Now Now don't go getting all patriotic Slob, 'cos whatsisname had to go to America to invent the telephone, Trevithic invented the steam engine in Cornwall, and if we were watching tellies using Yogi bears (or whatever he was called) invention a 26" screen would need a 6' diameter disc spinning at a couple of thousand RPM behind it, the cathode ray tube was invented by an Italian called Marconi at the same time as some American whose name I can't remember.
I had tickets for Pink Floyd at Wembly in 1981 but was laid up in hospital with a broken back after a bike accident in the Isle of Man.
I saw Black Sabbath a few times and feel proud to say my money helped to make Ozzy Osbourne the man he is today.

I gotta admit the responses were good ..... But.
I joined this site the same time as you. The site already had its own personality with the sometimes caustic replies to enquiries. The way I see it iis you either join in or **** off. Someone posts a sensible question in a semi-literate fashion, it tends to get replied to in the same way. If the poster is an obvious knob-end, (s)he gets treated as such. seems fair to me.
If you want sensible try www.mud-club.co.uk They seem to be sensible over there, very nice bunch and my manner of posting on there is far different to here. Thier general demenour demands it.

And was this site the same then as it is now? have people left because of the attitude of incomers? will we see the likes of topcatguzzi again, Marcus has disapeared along with others do they just get bored or realize it's just trivial hogwash and we've yet to realize it.
I reckon Marcus has either been locked up for tresspassing or is sulking 'cos no one asked about his poorly hand.
when i first joined there was very little traffic.so no one was getting any advice or abuse. now there is help when a sensible question is asked and a verbal attack when a stupid question is asked.
even while this bollocks about this cage has been going on there has been answers to other, more intelligent questions and no one has said ." oh! well done chaps that was nice of you to help them"
so it seems that the ones that have the knowledge and experience to help will do so and the one that like the **** takin banter will do that aswell. some people are both some are one and some are none.
help and advice is here you just have to put up with the crack or go to one of them sterile, namby pamby sites where they all suck up to each other. if you want an example of such a site try the jaglovers. a right bunch of stuck up wassocks. most of the people here are much more down to earth, and can take as good as they give.
i for one wouldn't like to see it change
