Im about to fit some new shoks to my discovery (1997) 2,5 tdi I just bought a set of Bilstein strong ones and am waiting for them to turn up any tips on how to do the job quickly would be appreciated as Im more used to defenders(ex squadie) .Things are almost the same as far as i can tell but you never know!!
the oe shocks cant cope with the roads out here in Italy (we have alot of unmetaled roads) and have completely **** themselves!!!

Give the bolts a coating of wd40 now, to try and make things easier when they turn up.

order yourself a set of Shock Absorber Turret Securing Ring (including nuts)


pound to a piece o **** you will snap at least one of the studs taking them off and they are only pennies to buy, would be tempted to get a pair of turrets as well and do the job properly.

as gegs as said and also get new bolts fer the lot...
