you would need to change input shaft and bell housing
how hard is it to change the input shaft as i only seem to be able to get tdi boxes at a fair price.

obviously depends its easy if you done a few ,but you need to remove 5th layshaft gear and rev layshaft gear and main casing spread two shafts apart remove old input shaft swap brgs refit new one
hmm no point then because its 5th and reverse that have failed in my box

i dont have new box yet only ones that i can get quickly are the tdi ones, no point in having to strip a new box, would be just as well fixing old one,not keen on taking box to bits lol, prob a bit beyond my skills

well your only other hope is measuring spigot brg to see if tdi shaft would fit if hole machined out
