Hi

Does anyone have instructions on fitting Roof Rails to a Freelander.

Just bought some on Ebay but no instructions as they were a used item.

Many thanks for anyones help

from memory when I did mine,

you need to

remove the 4 plastic covers.

Remove the bolts and washers that are under the cover.

Get the rail, and line it up making sure that the rubber base is under the rail.

Insert the bolts and tighten as hard as possible

(failure to do so will mean that water runs down the inside of the lining and possibly short the roof light (speaking from experience))

Thanks for the reply. Already fitted them, thanks. With it being my first landrover, I thought it may have been more difficult than it actually was.

Moved from my 'baby' Focus to my 'Daddy' Freelander,... No Regrests :)

worth keeping the plastic bits and the bolt in a safe place, then when you come to sell the car, you can always remove the roof bars and sell them on flee bay:p

Just about to fit some rails to my car but what is unclear is whether you need to tighten anything from inside the car, i.e do i need to remove headlining???

Just tighten them could be worth wrapping a bit of plumbers tape around the bolt if you have any, of not just make usre they are tight to stop the water leaking in.
