53 Freelander, petrol 1.8, 120k.

OK so I lost my only key and fob for the Landy <facepalm>.

After a couple of weeks looking, I bought a new ignition barrel and steering lock assembly from eBay, with a key and fob.

Is there anything to look out for in fitting the thing?

Will I have problems with the immobiliser - is it coded to the key/fob, or is it just the key that is matched to the barrel assembly?

I'm not worried about not having door locks - as they vehicle is mostly used on farm only. However I do take it into town too. How do I code the new fob to the door locks?

Im pretty sure you will need to code the fob and the key to your hippos ecu.

Main dealer job? or someone with the correct gear

Never done it. Make sure you disconnect the battery if you have a go.
