Hi All
Yes I've done the typical noob thing of vajazzling my Landie and gone out and bought some LRS headlight guards.

These are the kind that attach to the headlamp surround rather than the wing as I thought they would be easier for a non technical type like me.

As their mounting points will be at the edge of the headlamp surround top and bottom I see that when I drill through the plastic I will also have to drill through the metal behind. Presumably the headlight unit is behind there so am a bit concerned about that.

Also they have supplied self tapping screws so do I just drill holes slightly smaller than the screws and screw em in?

Youd have thought for £71 they could have run to a piece of A4 paper with instructions...

Cheers.

the headlight unit is exactly what you can see (just a metal/plastic bowl behind with 3 wires coming out of it) so dont worry about drilling around it if need be.

For the self tapping screws you can drill a smaller hole and screw them in, would try to get a drill bit slightly smaller than or as thick as the screw shaft minus the threads so the threads have metal to bite to.

Cheers, am still trying to get into the landy mentality of brute force and utilitarianism.

Will set about it tomorrow...
