oh yes .its just very very poor at pulling allways wanted a rangerover now i have one .well its got to be better than it is .like i said dont want a flying machine just something that will do the job .my old 2.5 pajero would out pull it i wonder if a diagnostics check would tell me .i am at a loss here

will go and see the guy a bought it off and find out exactly when it was last serviced .and will have the intercooler checked out .can i clean this out myself or is it a workshop job . fuel and oil filters look new and the car seems to have been looked after but the old guy did most of it himself as you do

Why not treat it to new filters?... oil air n fuel may help a lot

right just been to see the old guy i bought the car off .serviced 6months ago oil /air/ fuel and gearbox filters done .he has never cleaned the intercooler in 8 years he has had it so could be a point to check .will try and get it booked in some where for a check over before i use it for towing again to see whats wrong

What age is it?
I'm thinking the wee vacum pipe from under the inlet manifold that affects the fuelling or a leak in the turbo piping.

will have a look for the vacume pipe and a check round the turbo pipes when it stops raining other than poor pulling she seems to run very well but even solo up steep hills its bad so could be old or leaky pipes

just been out to have a quick look and thanks the vacume pipe that leads from the fuel filter to under the manifold has a flat spot in it and could be split couldnt quite see properly so will be having a new peice of pipe in the morning . if i read right this affects the fueling so could be one of the reasons for poor pulling power .will keep u updated

If the Pipe from the manifold to the MAP sensor is gunged up or split this will have a profound effect on performance as the Engine Control System will not know the boost pressure, and hence not know what fuelling map to use....

Fingies crossed this sorts it for you...
