oi ya numpty the only fault mentioned wuz a loose wire - unless you cant read he hasnt said it IS the HG yet has he ?

Hi Robs, you absolutely are welcome to your own opinion, but to come on an LR forum and slag-off the most popular diesel engine that LR have ever made is, well rather asking for it.
Incidently, I have two diesel-engined Discos and I find them reliable, economical and enough power for what they are DESIGNED to do.

lift the rear load area carpet - rust luvs it there
any smoke from the engine while running isnt a good sign (but not deffo bad news)
but then you probably knew this allready

Never owned a diesel in my life anyway this is what massa said who's the numpty now? :

thank u very much for the help .
but i had a bad luck because befor i could do anything i tried to a have a real test drive abd i got trapped.
I was driving for about 20 minutes and i noticed the temp gauge going to red and before i could stpo the car the engine died away.
Anyway i opened tthe boot only to see that all the coolant had escaped from the coolant tank.
The engine was very hot and it could not start. I letf it to cool down and after an hour it started but with too much smoke on the pipe.
I called a tech and he suspect the head gasket is gone as well as the pistons.
Anyway he will make a diagnostic and i will let you know.
