Hi all, just bought my first landy, a freelander1! This is the removable hard top version which is going to be used for everyday use as well as across fields for shooting and hopefully a bit of green laning! My question is do I need to make any mods before I start looking at tackling some trails and some lanes or will it be good to go as standard?

Start simple and see what you need to get where you want to go. Easy to throw money at the car and run out of cash to service it!
Tyres are a good place to start. Road tyres will hold you back.
What engine/year/gearbox is it?

Its the 2.0l TD4 diesel manual

tyres are the biggest single mod to get most improvement , what rim diameter 16 gives better options

It is 16" rims. Was looking at the general grabbers AT2. The old man has them on his disco 3 we have been using for around the farm and through the fields with good success!
