Twas a tad cold yesterday and I thought I heard a bit of a whooshing sound when I switched my '05 TD4 HSE off.

Same thing this morning but the missus said, hey, you have smoke coming out at the front.

Sure as sh*t, on my knees, left hand front corner, diesel smoke coming out of a small exhaust outlet.

Looked in manual. Seems I have an FBH (fuel based heater).

Shock.....however, having had an Eberspacher on my canal boat once, I'm quite used to diesel water heaters. Anyone know what make these are ?

It's a Webasto,

It is the Thermo Top C that is fitted, so fitting a timer or other remote device means it can work without the engine coolant pump running.

Reminds me of my last car.

Drove it for 2 years , then realised it had cruise control....

At least I have an excuse. There is no driver intervention required. Did you not see the switch marked cruise control......

FBH = Fuel Burning Heater.
