In Feb I had both the clutch and fly wheel changed in my '51 TD5 Manual as the release bearing was knackered and whined at me every time I changed gear. I had both the clutch and flywheel done again shortly afterwards as it still whined and the garage put it down to faulty parts.
I then had 4 months with no problems.
Just recently the release bearing whine has returned (when cold) but in addition I can hear a quiet 'clatter' that goes when I depress the clutch, it has started to jump out of gear when in reverse and it is quite notchy and clunky when going up and down through 1st, 2nd & 3rd.
The clutch travels almost all the way down but the disco pulls ok in every gear.
Any ideas?
The 'clatter' sounds dreadful, sounds like a rollercoaster!!! I cant make it do it, it's completely spontaneous and only lasts for a second because as soon as I hear it, I depress the clutch and it goes.!!!
