good day gents;
today my engine decided to let go,while driving it suddenly i felt a missfire and juddering upon acceleration,and upon looking at my rear view mirror steam was blasting like a steam engine train :doh: went to the garage after 5 minutes of driving,checked for faults and live readings nothing was there,then when we looked at the coolant level it has dropped almost half of it,mind you there is no over pressurizing,no overheating,engine is smooth as a mouse,we opened the oil filler cap and there was moisture inside of it.
my friend the mecanic insisted that it wasn't a blown h/g and said he thinks that the liners have slipped but didn't confirm it untill he will start ripping the engine off tomorrow morning.
How can liners slipp like that or the engine give up without any sign of overheating or over pressure?strangely the temp gauge sits in the middle all of the time.
what can cause this if i didin't have any signs of overheating and always checking the oil level and coolant?
but i did notice that i have been adding coolant almost once per week due to leaking hoses as i presumed and that i have replaced.
The only solution is a second hand engine from a breaker and or your suggestions to avoid an engine replacement.
