Hi all,
I am new to this forum and would like to take this opportunity to say hello.

I have a 2001 1.8 Freelander, 72,000 on the clock and no issues, well untill now that is. Every so often both the fans cut in for no apparent reason, i have looked at variouse threads in the forum, but still can not come to any conclusion. Any one any ideas, very much appreciated.

PS. There is no coolant leaksand the HG looks fine, ie no signs of being on its way out.

Prehaps i need to make myself a little clearer.

Both fans, that is the air con fan and the engine fan start up at any time, it can be from a cold start to just travelling for 5 mins down the road. I have had no over heating problems and the engine is checked and maintained on a weekly basis.

disconnecting the sensor runs the fans by default so perhaps there is a bad connection or failing sensor?

sorry to hijack the thread, but if you dont mind me askin, where would you find the same sensor on a td4????, the one that controls the fan for engine cooling???
