I'v taken my viscous fan off (good riddance) and put an electric fan on, works a treat. Now, I'v got to replace the fan belt (the one that runs from the engine pully at the bottom, to the alternator and to the fan)as its knackered. I presume that the bottom wheel powers the belts and that the top one where the fan was is powered by the same belt.

If I found a belt the right size, could I run it around only the alternator and bottom pully, and would there be any reason to take it off?? (apart to experiment)

ah think yule find a water pump stuck on the back of the top pulley. so it might be an idea to continue making it rotate.

Lol, oh yeah.. I hadn't noticed that as my steering pump is off, along with the belt. Well, thats that then, Ta.
